Working Dogo Canario Alliance Temperament Test Program
The Working Dogo Canario Alliance was formed by myself (Jen Chandler) and Randy Green as an outlet to test the temperament of the Presa Canario. I wrote the test in a three tier format. The first level to test basically green dogs, the other two levels to test both the natural drives and courage of the dog and the training/control of the dog.
Working Dogo Canario Alliance is available for holding our temperament testing at any event around the country provided the interest is high enough and participation is guaranteed.
The only certified judges allowed to perform these tests are myself (Jen Chandler) and Randy Green. If you're at an event where these tests are being given and neither of us are there, you are not at an officially sanctioned CCF Testing Event and your titles will not be recognized.
Certificado del Caracter Funcional (CCF II)
Any dog entering the CCF II must have already passed the CCF I
Defense of Handler
A decoy with a sleeve and stick (flexible baton) is set behind a blind/hideaway or shelter. The handler proceeds according to the instructions of the judge with the dog walking beside the owner held back by the collar. When the handler and dog are to a distance of around ten meters from the blind, they are suddenly attacked by the decoy which, on command of the judge, comes out of the hiding place. In front of such threat the handler immediately lets the dog free and commands him to attack. The dog must immediately bite the sleeve of the decoy and maintain the hold. The dog will be driven a series of 8 to 10 steps towards the handler. During the action, the dog doesn't necessarily get struck but should be aggressively threatened with the baton.
The dog must 'OUT' by the third command. The handler will pick up the leash before giving the first out command but MUST NOT have a tight leash. Pulling the dog off the bite with the leash is grounds for failure.
The exercise is considered finished when indicated by the judge. The duration of the attack is not important, rather importance is placed on the promptness of the dogs reaction to the threat.
Lack of aggressiveness, not taking of the sleeve, not outing after the 3rd command, fear, and indifference are grounds for failure. .
Scoring: Pass or Fail

All Temperament Tests will be video taped for club purposes. No video will be viewed or distributed in ANY form without the express permission or request of the dogs owner.
